A dairy replacement that works! For most things anyway…

Rice milk has got to be the easiest non-dairy milk to make at home. Seriously, it’s even easier than finding a reason to procrastinate! All you need is cooked rice, filtered water, a blender, and about five minutes… it’s great for all sorts of recipes that call for milk, try it out!

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup brown rice cooked
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 tsp maple/rice syrup optional

Instructions
 

  • Measure cooked brown rice (1/4 cup per cup of milk).

  • Measure filtered water (1 cup per cup of milk).

  • Combine measured ingredients in a blender. Blend well.

  • Makes 1 cup of rice milk.

Notes

Consistency of milk with these measurements is comparable to dairy, skimmed milk. adjust for the desired thickness.
Optional: add 1/4 tsp of vanilla for added flavour. Adjust to taste.
